Welcome to Chicago, Joe Bob!

Hi , Im Joe Bob. On March 12 I was rescued from a shelter in KY and brought to IL with two other Pointers. I spent a week at the vet getting neutered (ouch!) and waiting for my new foster family to be ready for me. On March 19 my new foster mom came out to an IBR pheasant photo shoot to meet me (see pics of me at the shoot here). I was very excited about all the dogs and especially about the BIRDS. I was so excited after my turn sniffing out that bird that when I saw him fly I started leaping into the air. I was leaping and barking and leaping...I think I almost scared my foster mom out of taking me home with her, but the other IBR folks were able to explain that some dogs like me just get super excited about working with birds. So, my foster mom took me home (phew!). In the car I showed her immediately what a good boy I really am by sitting patiently in the back. We drove to Chicago where I met my new furry foster brother Tucker and the rest of my foster family. Tucker is a big boy and I like playing with him a lot. I like walking with him too and I am well behaved - he is 88lbs and I am 56lbs but my foster mom has no problems walking us together. Our dog walker comes every day and lots of times we go in his car and have a playdate with a bunch of other dogs...Im a very good player and love meeting new dogs - I just like to watch them play and warm up a little bit first. I am allowed on the furniture here but I especially LOVE my kennel. I like to lounge in there even when everyone is home and I prefer to sleep in there at night too. I wasn't quite sure what going outside to potty was for, but I am learning and haven't have any accidents since my first week here! I am also learning how to sit; I think I'm getting the hang of it pretty quick! I love love love dinner time and I don't mind telling you about it. I like to ROO ROO when I see my foster dad getting dinner ready. I also like to ROO ROO at him when he wakes up in the morning. I just like to ROO ROO when Im happy...and I think it makes other people happy. I hear I'll be getting "caught on tape" soon...whatever that means. Stay tuned!
